Marosvásárhely is an old city in the heart of Transylvania, today being part of Romania. This branding project was mainly driven by the fact that the city did not have a solid, unified visual identity.
Travelling a little bit back in time, the first written memories about Marosvásárhely are originated from 1323. The city's coat-of-arms was modified several times over the centuries, but the main symbols have been preserved.
The crown, the sword, the heart and the bear are parts of the city’s history, representing its values. These historical symbols appear in the new visual identity of the city in a modern, contemporary style. Through renewing the identity, I also respected the matter of the bilingual citizens in the city: Hungarian and Romanian people.
